Hong Kong

Hong Kong is a very pretty city. We have an amazing view of the harbor from our hotel window. The skyline is unbelievable. We took a few pics out our window. Also, this morning on the way to Disneyland we saw the international terminal where a lot of the cargo is shipped all over the world. I didn't get my camera out in time but it was unbelievable. We saw a special on this on TV and this is where the goods are shipped to and then loaded on the those big railway looking boxes. Then they are loaded onto ships. The logistics of that must be mind boggling.

Pictures from April 8 --Our last day in Guangzhou

I forgot that I did take some pictures the last day we were in Guangzhou. We took a picture of MaiLin in front of the window in GZ and it turned out great the first time we were in China. So, when we returned to bring home LiLi we made the same pictures. Originally we did one with me holding MaiLin and then Chris holding MaiLin. She had her hands on the window like she was looking out over the city. We repeated with LiLi and then got a picture of the two of them looking out the window. So, as tradition would have it, we did it again. Only this time, Adrian was needing a nap and he did NOT want me to hold him so that pic did not turn out so good.

Hong Kong

Today we packed our bags and headed out for a trip on the "high speed express through train" to HOng Kong. Let me tell you . IT WAS NOT FAST. The cars on the road were going faster than we were. We left the hotel in GZ at 2:30 and headed to the consulate to get our visa packet and then off to the train station for a 5:00 train. WE finally arrived at 7:15 and by the time we got through customs and got luggage etc. it was after 8 p.m. ADrian got only about a 30 min nap today . Everyone was tired ill and hungry. But, the excitement level definitely picked up once we got into the hotel room. I finally got them all calmed down and in the bed around 10 P.m. Tomorrow ----Disneyland. We are going to try to do as much as we can. We will see how it goes. Then we are Homeward bound. I'm sure that after tomorrow there will be lots of pics. I don't usually get many made on travel days. It is just too hectic.

April 7--More Pictures from the Zoo

He fell asleep on the way back to the hotel. We've made great
strides in the last few days. I think he's figured out that
I'm ok. But, I still make Chris take him to the potty :).

April 7--A Trip to the Zoo

This is a picture of the arrangement as you walk into the hotel

lobby. It is gorgeous. The hotel is called The Garden Hotel

and there are flowers everywhere. It really is beautiful.

Well, it is official. The paperwork is DONE except for a few things once we get home. We have had an extremely busy day. We started out the day going to the zoo. Everyone really enjoyed it. Adrian loved the animals and so did the girls. We were able to see the panda bear. Our guide says that she always schedules the zoo in the morning because the panda is very active then.

After a trip to the zoo. Adrian fell asleep on the way back to the hotel. That was actually good because we had to leave again at 2:30 to go to the Consulate. While Adrian napped (and I got a small one myself) Chris took the girls to eat at Pizza Hut and he brought me back something. We had to wake Adrian up after a 2 hour nap so we could get ready to leave. Let's just say that he woke up on the wrong side of the crib. He had a rough day today but it was all just two year old tantrums because he wasn't getting his way. The girls don't like it when we tell him "no" but we have to teach him early that he doesn't always get his way.

He was having meltdowns over EVERYTHING. A lot of it was just normal 2 year old stuff. I'm sure that the activity of the last two weeks hasn't helped and we are all TIRED and tired of each other I think. If I could have a meltdown or tantrum and get away with it, I might go for it too. Just kidding. Chris and I've actually gotten pretty tickled at him several times.

Tonight before dinner he had a tantrum over a little purse that he wanted that MaiLIn had. He laid down on the floor face down and just cried and cried. ONce we explained that it was hers and he neded to give it back, he did. His foster mother told us that as long as you explain "why" to him, he is ok about it. The only problem is that when we explain it, he doesn't understand us. All in due time I guess.

Tonight at dinner he was pretending to cry and saying "BaBa" and leaning into Chris' shoulder. Chris started doing it back and it became a game and it was too cute. If you could hear him doing his little fake cry it would have more impact when you are looking at the picture. It was too funny.

This aftenoon we went to the Consulate for one last thing. We had to verify our infromation and take an oath that all of the information was complete and accurate. Then it was DONE!!! Tomorrow afternoon our guide picks up the visa package and we will be on our way to HOng Kong. Disneyland here we come.

We are really looking forward to Disneyland. We all really need something fun. I know the girls will love it and based on Adrian's reaction to the zoo today, I'm pretty sure he'll love it too.

Tonight I started the repacking ritual again. I'm so ready to be home and not live out of a suitcase and to get to where something other than the 4 things I brought for this part of China. I'm also ready for some good old Alabama fruits and veggies.

Tomorrow afternoon around 2:30 we leave the hotlel and we will catch the fast train to HOng Kong aroudn 5 p.m. It should only take 1-2 hours to get there. We are one step closer to home.

Praise: Adrian's foster mother was coughing up blood becasue she had a really bad sore throat and it started bleeding from coughing so muchl. So it seems that it turned out to just be a bad cold.-- Praises on that one!!!
